Hurricane Dorian Forecast Effect on Franklin
Franklin is in the moderate impact area for Hurricane Dorian

If the storm stays on its current track we will receive the worst impacts Thursday night well into Friday. We are anticipating receiving 2-4 inches of rain with a maximum rain amount of 6 inches. We are anticipating 30-40 mph with gusts of 45mph. VDEM are advising us to treat this as a severe Nor’Easter.

Police and Fire are appropriately staffed for Thursday night and are bringing in additional forces. Public Works will have a skeleton crew in place throughout the night to clear roadways if necessary. Again all of this depends on the track staying the same as currently projected.
