The latest information from Jeff Orrock, Meteorologist in Charge at NOAA/NWS in Wakefiled, Virginia:
Winds increased quickly early this morning. The peak winds are still yet to come later this morning and through the entire day. Wind forecasts have been increased some across the entire region. The duration of the high winds is very concerning and will likely result in numerous trees down and power outages.
Coastal flooding and severe beach and dune erosion is also expected across the lower Bay and entire coast Saturday.
This is a dangerous storm and we can expect a prolonged period of high winds through this afternoon into tonight.
