Virginia Main Street and the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHDC) partnered with Downtown Franklin Association to replenish our SOS: Sustain Our [Main] Street Relief Grant Fund. The purpose of the fund is to assist brick-and-mortar establishments located in Franklin's Downtown Business District during the crisis and recovery period. Downtown Franklin Association will continue to help sustain small businesses that have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Uses include fixed costs, COVID-19-adaptable modifications, marketing and alternate marketing methods, and other business-related operational costs.
"We are very grateful to Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development for this emergency funding to help support our Main Street businesses. Over the 35 year history of Main Street Franklin, DHDC has greatly invested in the revitalizaiton of Main Street. This recent funding allows DFA to be good stewards of their many investments by sustaining Main Street through our SOS Campaign," stated Dan Howe, Executive Director, Downtown Franklin Association.
