Our planned relocation of the city fiber from the former light plant building to the Incubator building is scheduled to begin on Monday, January 12th. Monday will be a verification of the plans with the workers doing preliminary work in preparation for the actual installation and splicing. Tuesday and Wednesday will involve running overhead lines which will include some lane closures on Mechanic Street, Jackson Street, 5th Avenue and Middle Street. The Incubator parking lot will remain open but there may be, at times, a need to re-route that traffic. Please be aware of any traffic
pattern changes due to the work being performed overhead. There will be signs and flagmen station on each end of the affected lanes. These activities will be performed from 8am-5pm on both Tuesday and Wednesday. There are no planned disruptions of network services during these days but if the need arises to shutdown part of the network every effort will be made to alert the effected buildings.
In addition, Saturday January 17 will be the day of cutover. Network/internet access will be disrupted for the Social Services building and the Incubator building during this time. There are no planned disruptions for the other network buildings but be aware of this activity and if the need arises to shutdown part of the network every effort will be made to alert the effected buildings. I will communicate any changes as timely as possible. Thanks
