Franklin, VA, – Franklin Broadcasting Corporation has expanded its Gospel programming with a new 24-hour FM radio station serving Franklin-Southampton and the surrounding community. Praise 99.1 launched Monday April 8, 2019 at Midnight.
The company’s Owner and General Manager, Michael Clark, is excited about the new FM station. “While we’ve programmed Gospel for decades on AM-1250, the timing was right to launch an FM station as the Mid Atlantic and Southern U.S. have seen an explosion of Urban Contemporary Gospel music over the past five years”. Mr. Clark further added, “Praise 99.1 allows us a greater opportunity to interact and engage with our community, provides a positive listening experience for a broader audience and gives our advertising partners enhanced opportunities to market their business to a powerful consumer demographic group”.
Praise 99.1 features a blend of contemporary, traditional and hip-hop Gospel. Listeners will enjoy a music intensive format with weekday personalities including the “Mike Chandler and Friends Morning Show”, Tracy Morgan mid-days and “Cedric Bailey’s Traffic Jam” afternoons. Weekend programming is highlighted by a variety of ministry and church broadcasts; including a live broadcast of the 11:00 a.m. Sunday worship service from Franklin Baptist Church. Listeners will have a wide array of options to hear their favorite Gospel, as programming will be heard on 99.1FM and AM-1250 with online and mobile streaming platforms coming in the near future.
Praise 99.1 continues the company’s vision of progressive locally owned and operated radio. Franklin Broadcasting Corporation is a third generation Media Company with offices and studios located in Downtown Franklin.
